I have grown up in Georgia.

So, I haven’t known much about planting, growing,

harvesting, or distributing sweet potatoes.

I do know eating a sweet potato,

Is just like our signs say -

It’s like eating a little slice of heaven.

My grandfather has lived here for years

And I only visited Vardaman on special occasions.

My knowledge of sweet potatoes was playing in the dirt

And picking up the sweet potatoes left behind.

Each visit here meant fun in the dirt, the sun

and taking home sweet potatoes.

I also know that here in Vardaman, Mississippi (or V-Town),

we can grow the best Sweet Potatoes around.
